Experience

Experiences represent your character's background and can be spent with Hope to add modifiers to rolls.

Experiences represent your character's background and expertise as mechanical bonuses.

At character creation, you start with 2 Experiences, each at +2. There is no fixed list: choose specific phrases that reflect who your character is (for example, Swashbuckler instead of Talented).

Before an action or reaction roll, spend 1 Hope to add one relevant Experience modifier. If more than one Experience fits, you can add multiple modifiers by spending 1 Hope for each.

Experiences can change over time as your character grows. If one no longer fits your story, work with the GM to replace it.
